"Nine ways the common core wil change classroom practice" summary

This article focuses on how that common core is going to change the classroom practices, specifically in Math and English Language Arts. In the realm of math, the goal has a greater focus on the in depth knowledge of the subject. It still focuses on the coherence and understanding of the subject but it is furthering the application and practices of the subject. In English Language Arts, instead of just focusing on the literacy and grammar it is expanding the subject further. It emphasizes on speaking and listening, which is giving students the understanding of how to speak in front of groups and classes. In order for this drastic change across the nation, states are preparing teachers in sample lesson plans, and in professional development workshops.
